2018 office design trends

Here at Benchdesking, we're always looking at the latest trends in office furniture so that we can bring you the most innovative products. We've scoured blogs, articles and Pinterest to bring you the key trend predictions in office furniture design, 2018. Here are the top five that we like.

Office Design Trends for 2018

1. Dynamic spaces

Dynamic spaces have been popular and on-trend for some time now and this trend isn't going anywhere in 2018. This focuses on moveable, flexible spaces that can be changed and adapted according to the company requirements. It is about being able to transform furniture so it is multi-functional according to the needs of the employees and the business. In short, it's empowering and it's here to stay.

2. Out with the conventional, bring in the unconventional

The millennial generation is leading the way and demanding open spaces where collaboration is key. Breakout areas and relaxed meeting spaces are high on the agenda, sparking creativity and free thinking.

3. Bringing work home, or vice versa

In recent years, the lines between work and home life have become increasingly blurred. Just as so many of us have an office space or study at home, the reverse also applies in offices, and employees want to feel comfortable and 'at home' while they're at work. With that in mind, 2018 will see a trend for creating relaxed seating areas and comfortable couches, breakout zones and furniture, games rooms and an environment where work and play merge effortlessly together.

4. Techno, techno

Technology will continue to drive office furniture design in 2018. From wireless charging to smart technology and cable management systems, technology will be at the heart of the office layout and design. By having desks and workstations that accommodate this, you can create an environment which encourages employees to thrive.

5. Open spaces

Open plan spaces are still very much on-trend in 2018 with the added twist that the material used to divide these spaces will become more appealing and eye-catching. Think bamboo intertwined with plants or metal display panels. The way in which we divide our creative thinking spaces will be a focal point of office design in 2018.
